Description
Uncirculated 1845-D Five Dollar
1845-D $5 MS61 PCGS. Variety 12-I. This impressive half eagle has an exceptional strike for a Dahlonega Mint product. The major devices are razor-sharp, as are the stars. Even the denticles approach full definition. The open fields are mildly prooflike, while the borders exhibit bright luster. A faint horizontal mark on the jaw is unimportant for the grade, and there are no other remotely mentionable abrasions. Population: 8 in 61, 6 finer (8/09).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2007), lot 3608, which realized $9,200.(Registry values: P2)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25TC, PCGS# 8224, GSID# 8978)
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
Weight: 8.36 grams
AGW: 0.24188oz
