Scarce AU 1846-C Half Eagle
1846-C $5 AU50 NGC. Variety 1. The 1846-C, with a mintage of 12,995 pieces, is scarce above the XF level. This AU Charlotte Mint example displays bright yellow-gold surfaces with traces of luster in the protected areas. The design elements are generally well defined, though some softness is noted in portions of the center on each side. A few of the expected faint abrasions are scattered about.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2006), lot 3297.(Registry values: P5)
