1846-D/D $5 AU55 PCGS. Variety 15-J. The mintmark is dramatically repunched north, the upright, curve, and base are all bold. Boldly struck for the southern branch mint, and noticeable bright luster outlines the stars and legends. A contact mark below the final S in STATES, but this is far from the focal points of the coin.
