1846-D/D $5 XF40 PCGS. Variety 16-L. The mintmark is prominently repunched northeast, although the feature is undesignated on the green label insert. Luster is unexpectedly plentiful for the grade, and softness on Liberty's hair is chiefly due to the strike.(Registry values: P3)
