Rare XF 1847-O Half Eagle
1847-O $5 XF40 PCGS. CAC. Variety 1. The 1847-O is a famous New Orleans rarity. A mere 12,000 pieces were struck, and few among those were saved. PCGS has certified just 42 pieces in all grades, and the total CAC population is six pieces. The present caramel-gold representative lacks any noticeable abrasions and displays richly detailed wing plumage.(Registry values: P8)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25TR, PCGS# 8235, Greysheet# 8987)
