Attractive AU53 1848-C Half Eagle
1848-C $5 AU53 PCGS. Variety 1, the only dies known despite a fairly high (by Charlotte Mint standards) mintage of 64,472 pieces. This is an attractive yellow-gold example that exhibits copious luster within the plumage and the reverse legends. No distracting marks are noted.
