1848-C $5 AU55 NGC. Variety 1, the only known dies. A yellow-gold Choice AU representative of the antebellum Charlotte Mint. Luster glows from the legends and eagle, and although small abrasions are scattered, none merits individual description. Census: 29 in 55, 24 finer (4/09).(Registry values: P4)
