    Well-Struck North Carolina Coin

    1849-C $5 AU55+ PCGS. Variety 1. The upright of the 4 is centered directly over a dentil. The reverse is in the usual late die state with a crack from the leaf to the rim through the left serif of the U in UNITED. The devices are well-struck for a Charlotte half eagle with only slight softness on the curls over the ear and the eagle's left leg. Partial luster issues from orange-gold surfaces. A collectible North Carolina type coin. Population: 28 in 55 (1 in 55+), 22 finer (4/19).(Registry values: P3)
