Description

Yellow-Gold 1850-C Five Dollar, MS61
Strong Mintmark

1850-C $5 MS61 NGC. Variety 2. The 1850-C is one of the more available C-mint fives with an estimated 275-350 pieces believed extant in all grades. It is also one of the few dates occasionally available in Uncirculated. This is an attractive example that displays bright yellow-gold color. The surfaces do not show the often-seen planchet defects, and the abrasions that are present are light and individually insignificant. The striking details are soft in the centers, as often seen.(Registry values: P3)
