Conditionally Rare in Higher Grades

1850-D $5 AU53 PCGS. Variety 28-U. The '50-D is conditionally rare, given its median grade of XF45 at PCGS. The present coin has orange-gold surfaces with portions of mint luster surrounding the devices on each side. An above average strike is seen on each side, and a number of minor abrasions are noted, mostly in the left obverse field. Population: 5 in 53, 24 finer (1/14).
