Difficult Choice AU 1850-D Half Eagle
1850-D $5 AU55 PCGS. Variety 24-P. A scarce D-mint five with a low survival rate. PCGS and NGC combined have seen only seven pieces certified as Mint State, and this figure likely includes a few resubmissions. The present Choice AU coin has apricot-gold surfaces with portions of mint luster surrounding the devices on each side. An above average strike is seen on each side, and there are no obvious marks. Population: 16 in 55, 10 finer (8/09).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2006), lot 2703.(Registry values: P3)
