Rare 1850-D Weak D Half Eagle, AU53

1850-D $5 Weak D AU53 NGC. Variety 23-O. The Weak D reverse showing heavy peripheral die cracks at the left reverse border. The yellow-gold surfaces display a faint greenish-gray tint, and the design elements are well defined except for the usual weakness on the eagle's neck. Small marks are visible, especially on the obverse, but these are fewer and of less severity than typically seen. Rare in AU and virtually unknown in Mint State.
