1851-C $5 XF45 NGC. Variety 1. The punchmark as described in the Winter reference is visible on the lobe of Liberty's ear, and the C mintmark on the reverse is centered. A second reverse die is known with the mintmark far to the left, over the left top of the V. A pleasing light yellow example, enhanced by pale orange toning on each side. Scattered surface marks are consistent with the grade.(Registry values: P4)
