Description
NGC 1851-O AU 53. This is one of the finest known examples of this rare New Orleans half eagle. Usually only seen in Fine or Very Fine condition, a problem-free AU piece such as this is of paramount importance to the advanced collector of gold from this rare mint. The typical '51-O is softly struck in the centers, but this piece shows little of that, being well defined in almost all areas. There is a significant amount of luster remaining and the surfaces are free from almost all post-striking impairments. Trends $5350 in AU 50 and unlisted any finer (12/14).
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25U9, PCGS# 8249, Greysheet# 9000)
Weight: 8.36 grams
