Description

Scarce 1852 Half Eagle, MS62

1852 $5 MS62 PCGS. Despite the large mintage exceeding a half-million coins, the 1852 is today a scarce issue in Mint State. This MS62 example boasts generous luster over both sides, and abrasions are fewer than expected for the grade, although a series of reeding marks in the left obverse field require singular mention. The strike is a bit soft on some of Liberty's curls, but other details are bold and sharp. Population: 37 in 62, 29 finer (10/09).(Registry values: P4)
