Mint State 1852-C Five Dollar

1852-C $5 MS60 NGC. Variety 19-H. The scarcer obverse die for this popular Charlotte issue. The base of the 1 is lightly repunched, and unlike Variety 18-H, the 1 is detached from the bust. The present coin is straw-gold and typically abraded. The stars, dentils, and wings are well struck, while the curls show the expected minor imprecision.(Registry values: P3)
