Description
Collectible Mint State 1852-C Half Eagle
1852-C $5 MS61 NGC. Variety 18-H. This clean green-gold example is suitable for any Uncirculated type set of C-mint gold. Sharply struck for a Charlotte Mint product, since the stars are intricately detailed, and only the eagle's neck and the curls beneath Liberty's ear lack impressive definition. A couple of abrasions are noted in the field above the eagle's head, but no other mentionable contact is present. Not a rare date by C-mint standards, but few survive in Mint State. Census: 7 in 61, 17 finer (8/06).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25UB, PCGS# 8251, Greysheet# 9001)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
