1853 $5 MS61 PCGS. Struck to the extent of 305,770 coins, the 1853 half eagle is challenging to locate in Mint State. This is a brightly lustrous example with razor-sharp strike characteristics on each side. Softness is restricted to the upper curls and the V in FIVE. The obverse die is cracked from the date through star 5.(Registry values: P4)
