Description

1853 Half Eagle, Rare MS62+
Shimmering Mint Luster

1853 $5 MS62+ NGC. Although considered to be an available Philadelphia date from a 305,770-piece mintage, the 1853 half eagle is anything but common in Mint State. This lustrous and satiny MS62 coin is Plus-graded by NGC for its obvious high quality at that grade. Vibrant mint luster illuminates the sharply struck motifs and finely grained fields. Marks are limited to a few tiny nicks on Liberty's jawline and eye appeal is excellent. Census: 1 in 62+, 11 finer (12/23).

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25UD, PCGS# 8253, Greysheet# 8899)
