    Description

1853-D $5 Fine 12 PCGS. Variety 34-Y. Strike quality on Dahlonega gold is irrelevant at the Fine grade level. This collector coin shows original olive-gold patina with deep violet overtones in the most protected portions of the obverse. The reverse rim grows slightly weak from 4 to 8 o'clock, but wear is otherwise even on both sides. A few abrasions are not objectionable at this affordable grade level.(Registry values: P1)
