1853-D $5 Large D AU55 NGC. Variety 29-V. Four die varieties are known from a single obverse die and four different reverse dies. This reverse has the mintmark high above VE, but clearly separated from VE. This wonderful green-gold example is boldly defined with excellent surfaces for the grade. It is highly attractive and will easily delight the connoisseur(Registry values: P1)
