Description
1854 'Doubled Earlobe' Five Dollar, MS62
FS-101
1854 $5 FS-101 MS62 PCGS. CAC. FS-101, formerly FS-004.5.
Liberty's earlobe is widely die doubled, reminiscent of the
Guide Book doubled ear 1984 Lincoln cent. Of course,
any No Motto half eagle is desirable at the MS62 level,
since few examples of the denomination were set aside until the
late 1870s. Nicely struck and lightly abraded with abundant
peripheral luster. FS-101 Population: 3 in 62, none finer (2/09).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25UG, Variety PCGS# 145713, Base PCGS# 8256, Greysheet# 199174)
