Sharply Struck 1852 Five Dollar, MS62

1854 $5 MS62 NGC. Most of the known 1854 half eagles fall within the Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated grade range. The lustrous surfaces of this yellow-gold MS62 example are imbued with light tan, and exhibit sharply struck design elements. Wispy handling marks in the fields define the grade. What may be either a toning or a light grease streak is visible in the upper left obverse. Census: 19 in 62, 15 finer (8/07).(Registry values: P5)
