Description

Conditionally Rare 1854 Half Eagle, MS64

1854 $5 MS64 NGC. Bright lemon-yellow color complements the satiny luster that glistens over the barely abraded surfaces. The centers are a bit soft, as often seen, but the stars are fully defined. Given its rarity in Mint State grades, the 1854 half eagle is an underrated--and thus undervalued--issue. Neither NGC nor PCGS has certified any coins finer than the present specimen (9/09). (Registry values: P5)
