Description
1854-O Half Eagle, MS61
Important Condition Rarity
1854-O $5 MS61 PCGS. Variety 1. A generous mintage of 46,000
coins implies that the 1854-O is a plentiful issue, and while it is
encountered on occasion in circulated grades, Mint State survivors
are rarely seen. In fact, PCGS and NGC have certified only 22
examples in all Mint State grades, and just seven of those are
finer than the present coin. This satiny beauty shows trivial,
grade-consistent marks on its fully lustrous light yellow-gold
surfaces. Population: 5 in 61, 4 finer (7/22).Ex: South Florida Collection (Long Beach Signature, Heritage, 6/2004), lot 6270.(Registry values: P6)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25UM, PCGS# 8259, Greysheet# 9011)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
