Description
1855 $5 MS61 NGC. A pleasing No Motto issue with eye-catching semiprooflike fields. The 1855 half eagle is seldom seen in Mint State, and this bright yellow example would make an excellent representative. The stars show fully defined centrils, but there is a little weakness on Liberty's hair and the eagle's head. A number of shallow marks are typical for the grade.
