Description
Uncirculated 1855-C Five Dollar
1855-C $5 MS60 NGC. Winter 23-J. While the 1855-C is a moderately scarce Charlotte Half Eagle, it is very elusive in strict mint condition with only 3-4 pieces believed known. This example has bright yellow-gold coloration and the striking details are sharp on the figure of Liberty, but the reverse is somewhat less well defined, as usually found. The surfaces are extensively abraded but the only mark worthy of singular note is located between stars 10 and 11.From the Ashland City Collection.
