1855-O $5 AU55 PCGS. The low-mintage 1855-O half eagle, produced to the extent of only 11,100 coins, is rare in any grade. Indeed, PCGS and NGC have certified slightly more than 100 examples in all levels of preservation, including a mere six in Mint State (all MS60 or MS61). The peach-gold surfaces of this Choice AU specimen retain luster in the protected areas of the sharply struck design features. A few minute circulation marks do not distract.
