Description
1856-C Half Eagle, AU50 CAC
Tawny-Gold Luster
1856-C $5 AU50 PCGS. CAC. Winter-1. Surviving specimens of
the 1856-C half eagle are seldom found in Mint State, with just 11
examples seen by PCGS, with About Uncirculated coins more available
but still scarce. This boldly struck example displays tawny-gold
luster. A myriad of minor abrasions are along the surface of the
coin, though they are largely not overtly detrimental in the face
of the visual appeal of this piece. This coin is the sole CAC'd
AU50 example and would be a welcome example for Charlotte Mint
collectors (3/26).(Registry values: P4)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25UW, PCGS# 8267, Greysheet# 9018)
