1857-S $5 AU50 NGC. The 1857-S saw heavy use in commerce, and most survivors are well circulated, according to Garrett and Guth (2006). This brassy-gold example is one of the few survivors in high grade. Excellent definition shows on the motifs, and both sides are minimally abraded.
