1858-D Liberty Half Eagle, AU58
Overlooked Issue in High Grade

1858-D $5 AU58 NGC. CAC. Variety 43-HH. The 1858-D Liberty half eagle claims a small mintage of 15,362 pieces and it is scarcer than most collectors believe in high grade. The orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded. Census: 37 in 58, 10 finer. CAC: 5 in 58, 1 finer (3/18).(Registry values: P3)
