Remarkable 1858-D Half Eagle, AU58
1858-D $5 AU58 PCGS. Variety 35-DD. Pleasing yellow-gold patina covers the resplendent surfaces. A few minuscule abrasions do not affect the eye-catching luster. Liberty's hair and a couple of stars are a trifle soft, but the rest of the details are razor-sharp. An excellent example of this later Dahlonega issue. Population: 18 in 58, 8 finer (8/09).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25V9, PCGS# 8278, Greysheet# 9027)
