1859-D Five Dollar, VF25
Pleasing Original Patina
1859-D $5 Medium D VF25 PCGS. Variety 44-HH. The 1859-D half
eagle comes from a moderately low mintage of 10,366 pieces and is
scarce in all grades, with only 175 to 225 pieces believed known.
This example is moderately worn but displays pleasing olive-gold
and orange patina. An ancient abrasion on Liberty's neck and in the
adjacent field serves as a pedigree marker. Housed in a green label
