1860 Half Eagle, AU58
A Low-Mintage, Rare Issue
1860 $5 AU58 PCGS. Most 1860 half eagles, with a mintage of
fewer than 20,000 pieces, entered circulation. Present-day
survivors are primarily seen in Extremely Fine and About
Uncirculated grades. PCGS and NGC have graded only 10 Uncirculated
pieces, mostly in the lower levels. The pinkish-gold surfaces of
this near-Mint State example display considerable luster and
well-struck devices and are minimally abraded. Population: 6 in 58,
2 finer (3/14).(Registry values: P6)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25VF, PCGS# 8284, Greysheet# 8906)
