Description
1863-S $5 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. XF. The obverse has several raised spines through LIBERTY, below and through the eye, and near the bust point. The reverse has a large, upright S mintmark centered over the left upright of the E in FIVE. Despite evidence of cleaning, this attractive straw-gold San Francisco Mint half eagle has pleasing surfaces with minimal marks, less than normally encountered for the grade.From The Twelve Oaks Collection.(Registry values: P7)
