Description

1865 $5 -- Cleaned -- ANACS. XF40 Details. With a minuscule mintage of only 1,295 coins, the 1865 half eagle is among the scarcest Civil War-era Philadelphia issues and is highly sought-after. Lightly cleaned long ago, the present example has long-since retoned a warm orange-gold overall, with significant detail remaining. Some minor surfaces abrasions are noted, but in no way detract from the pleasing eye appeal.
