Description
Scarce, Low Mintage 1865 Half Eagle
1865 XF 45. An elusive date in the No Motto series of half eagles with a tiny mintage of only 1,295 pieces. The 1865 has the fourth lowest mintage of any Liberty half eagle, and the sixth lowest mintage in the entire half eagle series. Somewhat softly struck, the surfaces have taken on a moderate reddish patina and each side is peppered with the innumerable small abrasions that go with the grade and fifteen points of circulation.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25VW, PCGS# 8298, Greysheet# 8911)
Weight: 8.36 grams
