Description
1867 Half Eagle, AU55
Semiprooflike Fields
1867 $5 AU55 NGC. The 1867 Liberty half eagle is scarce in
all grades, coming from a mintage of only 6,870 pieces. It is
believed that fewer than 100 pieces survive in all grades, and Mint
State coins are notably rare. This Choice AU example displays rich
tangerine-gold color and semiprooflike fields, with well-struck
design elements. Scattered light abrasions accompany the grade.
