Description

1867 Five Dollar, AU55
Scarce, Low-Mintage Issue

1867 $5 AU55 PCGS. Ex: The Fairmont Collection. The 1867 Liberty Head half eagle is an underrated date, from a minuscule mintage of 6,870 pieces. The present coin is an attractive Choice AU specimen, with just a trace of friction on the design elements and lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces. Population: 7 in 55 (1 in 55+), 13 finer (10/24).(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25W3, PCGS# 8313, Greysheet# 8913)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
