1868 Half Eagle, AU58+
Reflective Fields
Rarely Seen This Fine
1868 $5 AU58+ NGC. Coming from a mintage of only 5,000
coins, the 1868 half eagle is rare in the upper AU grades and is
extremely so in Mint State. This Plus-graded near-Mint coin is
highly appealing. Reflective fields frame sharp design elements
amid warm rose-gold patina. There is no obvious high-point wear,
although scattered abrasions certainly contribute to the grade.
