Low Mintage 1870 Half Eagle AU55
1870 $5 AU55 NGC. Boldly struck and moderately worn, with flashes of red-orange luster near some of the devices. A mere 4,035 half eagles were produced at the Philadelphia Mint in 1870, and survivors are scarce at any grade level. A pleasing Choice AU example. Census: 15 in 55, 11 finer (9/07).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25W9, PCGS# 8319, Greysheet# 8916)
