Scarce 1871-S Half Eagle AU53
1871-S $5 AU53 PCGS. Double Punched Date. Breen-6678. A difficult San Francisco Half Eagle and an even greater condition rarity, from a comparably large production of 25,000 coins. This example is draped in milky reddish patina and shows a touch of softness on Liberty's highest curls and on the eagle's neck.From The Velma & Bowie Lynch Collection, Part Four.
