Description

Conditionally Scarce 1873 Open 3 Five Dollar, MS63

1873 $5 Open 3 MS63 PCGS. The Open 3 variant is more available by a small margin than its Closed 3 counterpart with only 112,505 pieces struck for both varieties combined. Very challenging in MS63 and better condition, only four other pieces have been so graded by PCGS with five others finer (1/03). The surfaces show even, satiny luster and minimal abrasions. Well struck overall except on the neck of the eagle, as always.
