1873-CC $5 Fine 12 NGC. Variety 2-A. The scarcer of the two known varieties for this issue. This low-mintage Carson City issue (only 7,416 pieces struck) circulated extensively, as can be seen by the rarity of this date in all grades, especially XF and AU. This evenly worn example displays pleasing olive-gold color over each side, with smooth, problem-free surfaces. Census: 1 in 12, 23 finer (6/14).(Registry values: P3)
