High-End 1875-CC Half Eagle, AU55

1875-CC $5 AU55 NGC. Variety 2-C. From a small mintage of 11,828 pieces, the 1875-CC Liberty Head half eagle is a rare issue in high grade. The present coin is a well-preserved specimen, with attractive reddish-gold color and above average luster. A scattering of small abrasions is typical of the issue, and consistent with the grade. Census: 10 in 55, 6 finer (10/09).(Registry values: P3)
