Description
1875-S Five Dollar, AU58
Condition Census, Strong Eye Appeal
1875-S $5 AU58 NGC. Coming from a scant 9,000-coin mintage,
fewer than 100 1875-S half eagles are believed to survive in all
grades. High-end AU coins are particularly scarce, and only two
Mint State pieces have been certified. This near-Mint coin displays
impressive sharpness and originality with a glowing halo of
orange-gold luster around the relief elements. Other areas of the
fields show delicate green-gold color and rose hues. This piece has
a brush of high-point friction but is otherwise untouched. Census:

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25WV, PCGS# 8338, Greysheet# 9061)
