Description

1876 Half Eagle, AU55
A Low-Mintage Issue

1876 $5 AU55 NGC. The 1876 Liberty half eagle boasts an extraordinarily low business-strike mintage of 1,432 pieces, making the date rare in all grades. A good amount of luster remains on the peach-gold surfaces of this Choice AU specimen. The devices are well-struck, the sole exception being the typical softness on the eagle's neck feathers.
