Description

1876-CC Half Eagle, AU Sharpness
Lowest-Mintage Carson City Five Dollar

1876-CC $5 -- Reverse Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. Variety 1-A. A single set a dies was needed to strike a meager quantity of 6,887 half eagles at the Carson City Mint in 1876. The 1876-CC enjoys status as the lowest-mintage CC half eagle ever produced, and demand is correspondingly high. Although the reverse shows signs of an improper cleaning, this reddish-gold example offers strong strike characteristics.
