Description

1877-CC Half Eagle, VF30
Sharp for the Grade

1877-CC $5 VF30 NGC. Variety 1-B. As its small 8,680-coin mintage would suggest, the 1877-CC five is scarce in all grades and extremely rare in Mint State. This is a collectible high-end VF example, showing bold relief detail and impressively smooth, problem-free surfaces. Natural honey-gold patina blankets each side, and the eye appeal surpasses what is expected for the grade. Housed in a prior generation holder. Census: 9 in 30, 73 finer (3/16).
