Select 1878-S Half Eagle
Only Five Specimens Finer at PCGS

1878-S $5 MS63 PCGS. The 1878-S Liberty half eagle was produced in substantial quantities, but the issue circulated heavily and few Mint State specimens survive. Examples in Select condition are very rare, and few survivors can match the appeal of the present coin. This piece exhibits sharply detailed devices, with vibrant satiny mint luster and attractive greenish-gold surfaces. Population: 6 in 63, 5 finer (2/11).(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25X6, PCGS# 8347, Greysheet# 9067)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
